anzalta.cloud.This Very Site, Designed Twice

Designing in the Open: A Portfolio That Doubles as a Playground

This site is built with Nuxt 4, TailwindCSS, and a custom admin panel backed by SQLite — blog, projects, and contact messages are all self-hosted behind a hidden dashboard with JWT auth and argon2 hashing. No CMS subscription, no third-party analytics, no external dependencies that could disappear; every byte served is something I wrote or chose deliberately.

The landing you are looking at is its second life. The first version leaned into an anime-web3 aesthetic with neon gradients and glassmorphism; this redesign strips everything back to a minimal editorial system — one accent-free palette, one typeface, generous whitespace, and motion doing the expressive work instead of color.

The details are where it got fun: Lenis smooth scrolling, a liquid cursor that stretches with velocity, accordion borders that vibrate like plucked guitar strings, a binary-decode hero title, and a footer that hides behind the page until you scroll it into reveal. Each effect is small, dependency-free, and under a hundred lines — proof that polish is mostly patience.
